XAT 2026

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level management entrance examination conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission to its MBA/PGDM programs. Over 75 years old, XAT is one of India's oldest and most prestigious MBA entrance exams. The exam is held once a year in a computer-based test (CBT) format. XAT scores are accepted by more than 250 B-schools across India, including XLRI Jamshedpur, XLRI Delhi, XIM University, MICA Ahmedabad, IMT Ghaziabad, and many more. The exam is designed to assess a candidate's aptitude for business and management studies through four sections: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. XAT is known for its unique Decision Making section and is considered more challenging than CAT for some candidates due to its varied paper pattern and emphasis on logical reasoning and analytical skills.
