VITEEE 2026

VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination) is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), a premier private deemed university established in 1984 and accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC. The exam serves as the sole gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering programs across VIT's four Indian campuses - Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), and Bhopal - as VIT does not accept JEE Main scores for its B.Tech admissions. For the 2026 academic cycle, VITEEE has introduced significant changes to its pattern, making it more competitive than ever. The exam now features a +4/-1 marking scheme, replacing the previous no-negative-marking system. With approximately 215,000 applicants vying for limited seats, and a total duration of 2 hours 30 minutes for 125 questions, candidates must maintain a pace of roughly 72 seconds per question. The exam is offered in two tracks: the MPCEA track (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Aptitude) for standard engineering programs, and the BPCEA track (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, Aptitude) for bio-centric engineering programs.
