TANCET 2026

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Anna University on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for admission to postgraduate programs including MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch, and M.Plan. The exam is conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode and assesses candidates on multiple sections including Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, English Usage, and Business Situations (for MBA). With a total of 100 questions and a duration of 2 hours, TANCET offers a moderate difficulty level with negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates with a valid bachelor's degree (50% marks for General, 45% for reserved categories) are eligible to apply. The selection process includes centralized counselling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chennai. TANCET is particularly popular among candidates seeking admission to MBA and MCA programs in Tamil Nadu's government and private colleges.
