The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized, computer-adaptive exam administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). It is the most widely accepted entrance exam for MBA and other business-related graduate programs, with over 7,700 programs at more than 2,300 business schools across 110+ countries accepting GMAT scores. The latest GMAT Focus Edition, effective from February 1, 2024, features a streamlined format of 64 questions across three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights, with a total duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. The exam is scored on a 205-805 scale and offers flexibility with year-round testing, the option to choose section order, and the ability to take the exam up to five times in a 12-month period. The GMAT is available both at test centers and through an online proctored format, making it accessible to candidates worldwide. Top business schools like Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, INSEAD, and London Business School rely on GMAT scores for admissions, and in India, institutes like ISB, IIMs (for executive programs), SPJIMR, and XLRI also accept GMAT scores for various management programs.
