About GATE

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is one of India's most prestigious entrance examinations for postgraduate engineering and science programs. It is jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on a rotational basis. The exam is designed to test the comprehensive understanding of undergraduate engineering and science subjects. GATE scores are used for admission to M.Tech, ME, M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs at leading institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and IISc. Additionally, many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like BHEL, ONGC, NTPC, and IOCL use GATE scores for recruitment. The exam is conducted for 29 different papers covering various engineering, science, and architecture disciplines.
