Pimpri Chinchwad University

Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) is a private state university in Pune, established under an Act of the Government of Maharashtra and built on the 35-year education legacy of the Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET). PCET has run engineering, management and polytechnic institutions in the Pimpri-Chinchwad belt since 1990 across 11 institutes and 4 campuses, and PCU is its university-level expansion - carrying the trust's industry-facing teaching model into a single multidisciplinary campus. The university sits on a 30+ acre green campus at Sate in Maval taluka (PMRDA), just off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway (NH-48) and within reach of the industrial corridor that houses Tata Motors, Thermax, SKF and Bajaj. Teaching is organised into eight schools - School of Engineering & Technology, School of Computer Applications, Pune Management School, Pune Design School, School of Science, Pune School of Media and Communication, School of Pharmacy and PCU School of Law - plus Vocational Studies and Ph.D. programmes. Across these, PCU runs 34 degree programmes: B.Tech in Computer Science, AI & ML, AI & Data Science, E&TC (Semiconductor & Quantum Technology) and Mechatronics; M.Tech; six MBA specialisations; BBA, BCA, MCA, B.Des, M.Des, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, BA LL.B., LL.B., LL.M., B.Voc and Ph.D. tracks. The curriculum is NEP 2020-aligned and structured around applied work: AI, Data Science, Robotics, 3D Printing, Food and Psychology labs on campus, 50+ international bilateral agreements with institutions across the USA, UK, Canada, Japan, Germany, South Korea and other countries, and 9+ certification programmes bolted onto degree study. The Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) handles internships and campus recruitment, with 70+ internship partners including Airbus, Mercedes-Benz, Deloitte, Juspay, Zoho, IBM, Microsoft and Cognizant. PCU was ranked 3rd among emerging private universities in India by Outlook and has received the EduSkills Top Emerging University Award (2024), the Times Education Icon Award (2024) and the Pride of Maharashtra Award for Quality Education (2024). Admissions for AY 2026-27 run in four rounds between April and September, through the university's own portal with a Rs. 1,000 application fee, accepting national entrance scores alongside the PCU Entrance Test and a personal interview.

Internships at PCU are coordinated by the Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC), headed by Dr. Pranav Charkha, and backed by PCET's Centralised Placement Cell under Dr. Shitalkumar Rawandale. The university reports 70+ internship partner organisations including Airbus, Mercedes-Benz, Deloitte, Juspay, Zoho, IBM, Microsoft and Cognizant, with 600+ internship opportunities offered to date and 355+ students from eligible programmes having completed internships. Internships are credit-linked for most B.Tech and MBA programmes and are typically undertaken in the pre-final and final year. Pre-placement training covers aptitude, soft skills, group discussions, interviews, coding and domain knowledge. The campus location on NH-48 places students inside the Pimpri-Chinchwad and Maval industrial belt, giving direct access to the automotive and manufacturing cluster.
